My Books
I scoffed when it was suggest that if I ever wanted success I had to write. Me write? That sounded crazy! When I was a little girl I couldn't even pronounce words correctly. But write I finally did - starting at 50, when the nightmare of my speech impediment was finally over, and my joy of writing had finally begun!
My first book, Gifts of Gratitude is a series of short "stories," all true, that recount the grace and miracles that can define your life when you allow your time on earth to be an adventure. Hopefully they will encourage and inspire you, to live your dreams. At any age!
I was hired to direct and write my third documentary 'We Know Not What We Do' because I already had two award winning docs, so when producer Aaron Taylor asked me how to make a winning doc my ‘smart’ answer was "hire me to make one for you.”
Thus began an adventure that changed my life!
I wrote this book to preserve the memory of that great adventure. We Know Not What We Do, both the film and the book, is my love letter urging all of us to make a moral and spiritual shift in the way we live on our Planet - if we do no choose to be extinct.
My Screenplay
“50 to 1” is an America motion picture that tells both the story of how Mine That Bird, surprised the world by winning the 2009 Kentucky Derby, and his cowboys owners, Mark Allen and Doc Blach found Hall of Fame Jockey Calvin Borel, and formed the alliance that made that dream come true.
I watched that actual Derby win, and quickly realized it was a story to be told. Thus began a two year adventure. I started the project, wrote my first screenplay, and learned the pitfalls involved in getting a movie from screenplay to screen..
The great thing of the project was my friendship with Mine That Bird. From the electric first glance at the Preakness stall till the last palm licking goodbye at the barn, that was a deep love that has lasted till today.
Mine That Bird I love you!
